Job Description

Job Title:        Sales Manager                                                                Department:       Sales

Position Summary: 

Essential Functions (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without accommodation.)

Distribution Channel build up.

1.         Manage to build up the sales channel of North America market and International Distribution Chennel at a startup environment.

2.         Manage and perform products demonstrations to prospects.

3.         Attend and participate in sales meetings, seminars and tradeshows

4.         Proactively interface with prospects, end users and  distributors’ reps on a daily basis to provide assistance, support the closure of revenue opportunities and perform post sales support

5.         Support sales opportunities, identified by reps, throughout the sales cycle.  Includes activities such as providing information on product capabilities and technical specifications, applications and related assistance

6.         Prepare and manage annual and quarterly sales forecasts for the assigned territory, provide weekly updates.

Technical Support

7.         Assist Distributors’ reps, AS team and end users with questions and develop relationships.

8.        Other Functions (non-essential):    Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:    

Bachelor’s degree in science, or a higher-level technical degree in optics, physics, chemistry or engineering. Knowledge of spectroscopy and microplate reader analytical instruments is highly desirable.

Experience:  

At least 3 years of sales or sales management experience, previous spectroscopy, microplate reader or analytical instrumentation and channel management experience highly preferred.

Previous track record of success; demonstrated ability to learn and apply new ideas

Specific Skills:         

Able to travel up to 20-30% as needed

Leadership abilities and proven experience in motivating others.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

Well-organized, goal-oriented individual capable of working independently.

Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.

Strong sense of urgency with the ability to handle multiple priority projects at one time.

Commitment to providing a high level of customer service

Excellent interpersonal skills:  able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers, peers and upper management without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:

Solid understanding of spectroscopy microplate Reader and analytical instruments technology

High level proficiency with Microsoft Office

Supervise direct report Sales Reps

Working Conditions:

Must be able to travel regularly

Office and lab environment.

Occasionally required to stand for extended periods over several days during trade shows.

Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Requires regular sitting, standing, reaching, fingering, and feeling
